Insurance Rumors and Gossips - Is GluayGluay.com bought by WPP group?

Recently there was news circulating in the Asian financial markets and the emerging internet sector that GluayGluay.com, Thailand's fastest growing online car insurance broker is going to be acquired by WPP, one of the world's largest advertising group.

This calls for a full, open and thorough investigation.

Findings:

GluayGluay.com is an online brand by Comparexpress Insurance Broker (Thailand) Ltd., they hold both the life and non-life broker licenses from the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC). They are part of the CompareXpress Group that owns Singapore's first financial comparison website. CompareXpress Group is in turn a wholly owned subsidiary of Teledirect Telecommerce, ranked #1 for Best Large Outsourced Contact Center in APAC 2014 at the Contact Center World Awards. And, WPP is a substantial shareholder of Teledirect Telecommerce as cited here "In 1996, the WPP Group acquired a forty percent share of the company", source Wikipedia

teledirect

Hence the rumor that WPP is buying GluayGluay.com is not true, since GluayGluay.com is already part of the WPP group.
